COOKING Program
Day
1, BENVENUTO!
You will be met at Rome's Fiumicino Airport and driven to the agriturismo
in Tuscania. After settling in we will go to a nearby town for a
stroll followed by dinner at a local restaurante. There we will
talk about the week to come and get to know each other a bit, returning
to Tuscania afterwards.
Day 2
We will go to the local market in the morning and then return to
our home base for a cooking lesson before lunch. In the afternoon
we will tour the estate. While walking with the dogs, past the farm's
livestock, thru olive groves and necropoli we will gather herbs
for the cooking lesson before dinner. After dinner we will talk
about the history and traditions of Italian cooking.
Day 3
In the morning we will go to Marta on Lake Bolsena where there is
an annual festival honoring the Madonna dei Monti with samples of
local produce. Following this we will go to a vineyard above the
lake for a cooking lesson and lunch. Before returning to Tuscania
we will tour the Church of Santa Cristina and visit a castle with
its beautiful spring gardens. Dinner will follow a cooking lesson
at the agriturismo.
Day 4
After a free morning we will go to another vineyard and cantina
in
Civitella d'Agliano for a lesson in wine matching foods at lunch,
and a vineyard and classic wine cellar tour. Afterwards we will
go to Montefiascone for a stroll before a sunset dinner overlooking
the lake.
Day 5
We will take you to a town by the sea for a seafood lunch and spend
the afternoon at a thermal spa for some much deserved pampering,
returning to Tuscania for a cooking lesson before dinner.
Day 6
After a leisurely morning we will lunch on the farm spending the
afternoon recipe gathering, with a short lesson preparing preserves
to take home. The final dinner will be under the stars at a locanda
in Tuscania.
Day 7
You will be taken to Rome's Fiumicino Airport to meet your plane.

PHOTOGRAPHY Program

Day 1, BENVENUTO!
You will be met at Rome's Fiumicino Airport and driven to Tuscania
where, after settling in, we will sample some of the fabulous food
of the locanda and take an afterdinner stroll thru town to get oriented.
Day 2
After your first photography lesson we will go to lunch at a local
agriturismo followed by a tour of the estate, walking thru olive
groves and necropoli, looking back over the valley at a rarely seen
take on the town of Tuscania. Supper will be at la locanda
Day 3
After the morning photography lesson we will go to Lake Bolsena.
There we will take a boat out to Island Bisentina, a former papal
retreat and residence of the Farnese family. We will have a picnic
lunch on the island, later returning to a town on the shore of the
lake for dinner.
Day 4
There will be a morning photography lesson and after lunch you will
have time to work on your project. In the evening we will go off
to Montefiascone for a walk just before a sunset dinner overlooking
the lake.
Day 5
Following the morning photography lesson we will take you to a thermal
spa for some much needed re-energizing, and to a local trattoria
for lunch, Returning to Tuscania for the afternoon and dinner.
Day 6
The day will be spent doing critiques followed by a reception and
exhibition of the artwork. Our final dinner will be at la Lucinda
celebrating our accomplishments under the stars.
Day 7
You will be taken to Rome's Fiumicino Airport to meet your plane.
